I began my work in the food system with the Department of Public Health at the City and County of San Francisco where I also served as the Commissioner of Agriculture and the Sealer of Weights and Measures.

I continue to do this work in Boston and Southern Vermont.

My current work in the food systems seeks to engage in trauma-informed programming and intervention work that links rural and urban agriculture together while attending to and addressing structural violence and the social determinants to health.
